Meet Our Staff

Following is a list of our staff members, including a brief biography and their role at NorthStar Sales:

Sales team

Bruno Zumbo - President:

In addition to his administrative duties, Bruno also handles several major accounts in the Philadelphia Metro area.

Clarke Bittner - Vice President: 

Clarke graduated from Drexel University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in marketing management.  He has been in the paper industry since 1983, starting with St. Regis Paper Company.  In 1985 Clarke worked with Portion Packaging in drink cup sales.  He has been a manufacturers representative since May of 1986, and is married with two sons. Clarke covers Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.

Chuck Lax - Business Development and Communications Manager:

Chuck has been in the industry since 1982, beginning in distribution as a sales representative and later as a purchasing agent.  He attended the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School. Chuck  joined NorthStar Sales in 1992 as a sales representative and currently is responsible for business development and interaction with the various manufacturers NorthStar Sales represents.

Tom Kolterman - Sales Representative:

After attending Penn State University and working in western Pennsylvania, Tom joined Kolterman Associates in 1980, representing manufacturers in the janitorial supply market. Tom joined NorthStar Sales in 1997. An avid golfer, Tom is married and has one son. Tom covers Northern Pennsylvania, Central and Northern New Jersey and Delaware.

Bob Hill - Sales Representative

Bob joined NorthStar in January of 2007. Bob has 29 years of experience in the sanitary maintenance industry, 10 in operations/purchasing/product development for two large distributors before joining The Russ Leahy Company in 1987 as a manufacturer’s representative specializing in janitorial supplies and equipment. He is ServSafe Food Safety Certified. Bob has a business degree from Trenton State College. Bob is an active member with his local ambulance corps and Advanced Life Support corps as a certified Emergency Medical Technician. Bob lives in Northeastern PA with his wife and daughters. Bob covers Eastern/Central PA and key accounts in NJ.

Jerry Serlen - Sales Representative:

Jerry has almost 40 years of experience in the disposables business including both distribution and manufacturing prior to joining NorthStar Sales in 2000. Jerry covers Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey.

Jerry Melnyk - Sales Representative:  

Following college, Jerry was employed by Marcal Paper Mills for eighteen years as a regional sales manager covering the southern states.  In 1993, Jerry joined the NorthStar Sales team. He prides himself on maintaining his long-term relationships and trust in the industry. Married in 1980, Jerry resides with his wife and son in Owings Mills, Maryland.  Jerry covers Maryland, Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia.

George Butler - Sales Representative: 

Before joining the NorthStar Sales team, George spent 22 years covering the Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia markets as a sales representative as well as a regional sales manager. George lives in Virginia with his wife and two sons, and has a degree in business administration, and an M.B.A. in marketing. George is responsible for the Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Virginia markets.

Ken Scott - Sales Representative:  

Ken covers New York City and Long Island. 

Tom Cleary - Sales Representative

Tom joined NorthStar in January of 2007. Tom handles the metro New York and Long Island markets.

Ryan Cleary - Sales Representative

Ryan joined Northstar Sales in 2006. He covers Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware. 

Jay Weissman - Sales Representative

Jay covers the Metro New York area.

Tina  - Office Manager and Pricing Administrator:

Tina joined NorthStar Sales in 1994 as part of the  customer service team. She was promoted to office manager in 1997. .  

Dawn  - Customer Service:

Dawn joined NorthStar Sales in 2003. She handles customer service requests and pricing. 

Shirley  - Customer Service:

Shirley joined NorthStar Sales in 1999. She handles order entry and customer service requests.
